FLIGHT SCHOOL RW 2024 - INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

The best and simplest way to install and enjoy FLIGHT SCHOOL RW 2024 is as follows:

1) make a fresh install of your SF2V or SF2NA copy and patch it to the last version (July 2013). Even best would be to install SF2CE (Complete Edition), since it is already patched.

2) Run SF2V or SF2NA once and let it create the “Mod” folder in C:\Users\User Name\Saved Games\. Then exit.

3) Go into that “Mod” folder and delete anything.

4) Download FLIGHT SCHOOL RW 2024, unpack it and move everything into the “Mod” folder. You can also rename or move it it if you like, but then you’ll have to rename it in the Options.ini file or it will not start.

5) Do some tweaking. You will now be going in and out of the game adjusting this and that.

6) Controls and Graphics etc. The game makes it own default control and graphics setups. You may choose your setup of course from the OPTIONS button which is shown on several screens in the game.

7) Monitor Resolution: make sure its the same in game as you have it for your desktop setup. Example: if yours Max's out at 1920x1080 dont set the game at 2050x1200. Do this in the GRAPHICS section of OPTIONS.

8) There are several levels of game play, from easy to hard. Once you have these set, try not to enter that CONTROLS section again. There is a SNAFU that erases some nice little Photo Mods we have included. No harm, you just have to keep reinstalling the mod entries in the CONTROLS DATAini. A separate set of instructions called PHOTO RECCE MOD will be with that.

9) If you are a new user, we recommend to take a look at the ThirdWhire Strike Fighters 2 Series Online Manual. It will be very useful to teach you the basics beyond providing the complete list of key functions. Here is the link: http://thirdwire.com/man/sf2/Strike_Fighters_2.htm

10) The FLIGHT SCHOOL RW 2024 mod overwrites much of the native SF2 settings. INSTANT ACTION and CAMPAIGNS will not function properly so do not play them. You will get a CTD or other anomalies. All of your missions will be selected from the SINGLE MISSION button on your main screen and then the LOAD MISSION button on the single mission screen. All loadouts (fuel, ordnance, skin, markings) are preset for the selected mission. DO NOT adjust any of these. Of course once you are in game you cannot adjust anything. 

11) Briefings. Mission Briefings are included in the "Briefings" folder, both in JPG and PdF. We suggest you do get them so you know whats going on. Fly the missions as they are presented. Then later, fly them as you wish if you wish. In the 2024 versione we have included two really detailed manuals for the two reconnaissance planes you will fly: the RF-101C Voodoo and the RA-5C Vigilante. Read them carefully!

12) Once you are in game, you cannot mess up anything. No worry. Any problems will be created during install or afterwards if you start messing around with files. DO NOT unless you know what your doing. Thats why we want you to backup everything. We do know the game pretty well and we still make mistakes.

13) Loading times for missions can vary depending on what is required to load per mission. Times in excess of 2 minutes is not unusual depending on your system. The average loading time is about 45 or 60 seconds. Maybe less.
