Rising Sun RW – Phase One: from Pearl Harbor to Rangoon, 37 combat missions.
Rising Sun RW – Phase One (2025) begins on the morning of December 7th, 1941 on the deck of the imperial Japanese carrier Kaga, in the seat of a Mitsubishi A6M2 Zero. You’re highly trained, war-tempered carrier pilot flying the best fighter in the world that morning.
Then you will move to fight at Wake Island with the Marines and sink the Prince of Wales with the Japanese. Finally you will both invade and defend Thailand, with the legendary Flying Tigers. The Phase One concludes over Rangoon, where the RAF and the AVG are fighting the Japanese in the Battle of Burma.
Rising Sun RW – Phase Two: from Doolittle to Midway 26, combat missions.
Rising Sun – Phase Two (2026) begins on Febrauary 20, 1942 off the coast of Rabaul. A pilot named Butch O’Hare defends his carrier against an attack of land based torpedo bombers and now the Japanese know the American carriers are at sea.
A month later, you fly in Doolittle’s Raid from the Hornet convincing the Japanese to expand their defensive perimeters and to engage and destroy the American carriers at all cost. Fight the first carrier battle in warfare, in the Coral Sea. Phase 2 concludes north of Midway in the greatest sea battle in history.
